Jennifer Lopez is ready to soundtrack your summer.
In an interview with Maine radio station Hot 104.7 today (March 18), J.Lo revealed that her new album will drop on June 17. She then gave a few additional details on her much anticipated tenth album. Yes, tenth.
“I just love music,” she said. “I think it’s the dancer in me. I love making music. Even though it’s my tenth album, it feels like the first one.”
While Lopez admits she doesn’t have the album title just yet, she’s not too worried. “I’m one of those people who always waits until the last minute,” she explained. “When I hear it all mastered together, we’re in the final stages of putting it together. I think I have to turn it in next week.”
In addition to her collaboration with French Montana on her latest single, “I Luh Ya Papi,” the album had Lopez working with Max Martin, Robin Thicke, Tyga, and Big Sean. She also revealed that she recorded a duet with Maxwell for the upcoming record.
During the interview, J.Lo also talked about the video for “I Luh Ya Papi,” which flips the switch on all those rap videos, forcing the men to lounge around, all scantily clad. Something Lopez says was a long time coming.
“When the director came up with the idea, I was like, ‘OK. If we’re going to do a rap video, if I’m the rapper, there’s gotta be a whole bunch of guys with bathing suits around me…we gotta do it right,'” she said. “It was funny when we were shooting the video, how uncomfortable it was for the guys.”
