By all appearances, Jennifer Lopez is doubling down on her love of the ’90s in her latest video for the single “First Love,” as she did on her new album cover.
The video, directed by heavyweight Anthony Mandler, the man behind most of Rihanna’s video catalog among many others, is done very much in the style of those iconic ’90s Herb Ritts videos, including Janet Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do Without You” and Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Games.”
She stays in line with that ’90s Versace wardrobe as well. In an earlier interview with Radio.com, Lopez said of her A.K.A. album cover that she was going for a ’90s Versace supermodel vibe and added, “That’s one of my favorite fashion eras, anyway; Versace in the ’90s.”

The look makes an appearance in the form of a bathing suit with more cut outs than bands, a sequined body con gown paired with gold platform heels and giant, tussled ’90s hair in a nod to Claudia Schiffer’s Guess campaign, which itself nodded back to Brigitte Bardot’s ’60s look.
Less Versace but still eye-grabbing is the crochet gown she also wears that shows off all her tattoos. Her most revealing look, a sheer white bathing suit, is actually possibly the most concealing piece of clothing that makes an appearance.
A.K.A. hits stores on June 17.
